If you’ve ever worked with Sarah, you know she brings energy, adaptability, and heart into everything she does. As ModernRugs.com’s Business Development Manager, Sarah wears many hats—leading sales, driving new business, supporting HR, keeping operations running smoothly, and even helping foster connections within the local art community.
“No two days are ever the same, which I love,” she says. “It’s truly rewarding to contribute to so many key areas, always ensuring our people are supported and our business keeps moving forward.”
Sarah’s background in hospitality gave her the perfect foundation for this multifaceted role. Working her way up from the front desk to management, she experienced every side of the industry from cleaning, cooking, IT, and even fixing toilets. More importantly, she learned the value of anticipating needs, maintaining brand standards, and creating seamless experiences for clients and teams alike. “That world taught me how to connect with people and problem-solve in real time,” she explains, skills she now applies daily at ModernRugs.com.
Her approach is all about being a connector. Sarah loves traveling with her “dream team” partner, Brad (our Director of Sales), to meet designers and clients in person. Sharing meals, seeing their cities, and building relationships face-to-face helps her understand their worlds better. From there, she seamlessly links them to the right members of the ModernRugs.com team, ensuring they feel supported from the very beginning.
But behind the scenes is where Sarah says the real magic happens: “Our talented design team makes sure every detail is right before production, and our production team works tirelessly to deliver exactly what the client envisioned. My role is to make sure clients feel heard and supported all along the way.”
For Sarah, success isn’t about a single task; it’s about leaving the day with a sense of calm, knowing she’s supported her colleagues, clients, and community. Whether it’s helping organize an office lunch for the Mayor and her staff or pivoting on vacation to meet with clients in Santo Domingo, Sarah embraces challenges with positivity. Her “pro tip” for the job? “Just roll with it and have fun.”
What she enjoys most about working at ModernRugs.com is the culture: “We’ve built an environment where staff, clients, and our wider community all feel connected. It’s a collaborative effort, and it’s that mix of hard work, creativity, and genuine connection that makes it so special.”
Outside of work, Sarah finds her inspiration in her family. She loves cooking for them, and her kids motivate her to give her best every day. “They love hearing stories about my work,” she says. “I hope it inspires them for their own careers someday.”
