Nani Marquina studied industrial design at Escola Massana and worked as an independent textile designer before creating her own company and showroom in Barcelona in 1986. A superb colorist, Marquina creates her own vivid rugs. The Spanish company is dedicated to the design and edition of wonderful rugs and textiles. Since its founding, the company has designed its products paying special attention to research into raw materials and manufacturing processes. First creations were carpets designed by Nani Marquina herself, in geometric forms and bright colors in red, green, yellow, blue, black, and many more, with close attention to texture that fits any minimalistic home or office decor. After these had been well received, she commissioned several internationally renowned designers to create new carpets. Today, nanimarquina is a market leader in the textile decor sector, and her contemporary area rugs collections are fully featured on this site.

Almost all Nanimarquina rugs are made from natural materials such as wool or jute, which makes them 100% biodegradable. Nani Marquina produces her rugs with the "Care & Fair label", an organization that since 1995 acts against child labor. All carpets made in India also bear the label of KALEEN, issued by the council of India to guarantee again that no child labor was employed.
